After working and travelling in South Africa he returned to New Zealand and joined a Chartered Accounting firm in Palmerston North. Barry also enjoys working and assisting small to medium sized accounting clients with accounting compliance, system reviews, and general business advice.
He is especially interested in taxation and business operation issues, particularly how they affect small business clients. Wayne has been a Chartered Accountant since 1991 and has worked in medium sized Chartered Accounting firms in both New Zealand and United Kingdom. He then moved into working for large small public companies and government departments, including investigations for Inland Revenue. Mereana joined Iles Casey in 1995 after completing her Bachelor of Management Studies degree at the University of Waikato.
She qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2001 and has worked primarily within audit services. Mereana has extensive experience and knowledge with Maori authorities, clubs societies, charitable organisations, companies and other entities requiring statutory or special purpose audit services. Partners, managers and senior staff also belong to NZICA New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants . This continued until the merger of Touche Ross Co and Deloitte Haskins Sells in 1990, when Iles Casey reverted to being an independent local firm. NZ CA members co operate together to develop a national working relationship.
