What you should know about Memories Of New Zealand - Limited
Formerly through Rotorua Handcrafts Limited, Memories of New Zealand Limited have been manufacturers and wholesalers of souvenirs and giftware since 1953. Started by George and Zilpha Coppard in their workshop behind their house, the business grew rapidly and within 3 years they built a factory at 96 View Rd, Rotorua where the business is still today. Back in the beginning, Rotorua Handcrafts produced only carvings, some of which were very iconic, like the carved Pepper and Salt shakers which everyone remembers having a family member with a set. In 1987 Gary and Sandra Coppard, George and Zilpha's Son bought the business and in 1990 Memoires of New Zealand imported the first Laser Engraver into the country which they started to use in the production process. This allowed them to do intricate work which could not have been done before and today they now have 3 working non stop to help produce over 250 products

The teko is a carved representation of Maori tribal ancestors and is found in and around meeting houses. An All our products comply with export and customs regulations, which is that the timber must be kiln dried and sealed. A We use a variety of timbers in our products including rim, rim Md, Masai and Custom Wood. Based in Rotorua, New Zealand, we wholesale 460 products to over 300 outlets. We are a family owned and operated souvenir and gift ware manufacturer that has been trading for over 60 years. All of our products are 100 Fresh Zealand made using native timbers such as rim and Masai to accomplish an authentic, tall quality look.
It was originally started by George and Zilpha Coppard and in 1987 was bought by their son and daughter in law Gary and Sandra Coppard
