Connie and Harald Esendam established PlentyFlora in 2002 with a lot of help from friends. For 10 years Harald was leading the Research and Breeding team at Terra Nigra. In that period Terra Nigra developed the Mini gerbera, which found its place in the European market with its features of a longer vase life average 30 longer , easier to combine with other flowers and multiple purposes in use think of cakes, hairdo's and buttonholes . In 1995, Connie, Harald moved from the Netherlands to New Zealand and landed in Rotorua, where Harald worked at the Research Department of Carter Holt Harvey. All the above provides Harald with strong connections both in the Dutch Floricultural industry as well as in the New Zealand community in order to secure the best product for the New Zealand Florists and their customers.
